Instead of a cosy evening sitting inside Ruthrieston Community Centre, Visions had organised an outing to Bullers of Buchan to try and photograph the Puffins and others inhabitants of the cliffs. The puffins are far outnumbered by the razorbills, kittiwakes, fulmars, shags and guillemots along with herring gulls and black-backed gulls. They nest in small burrows in the grassy top of the cliffs, which can make it surprising hard to get a decent photo of them, unless you are prepared to get right to the edge and use a pretty long lens.

A rare Visions bird with an even rarer Nikon Z 28-400mm super zoom – by Debbie Krukowski (isn’t that lens cap supposed to be the other way round?)
Luz Mery spotted a few Visions photographers. Not sure if that one on the right is about to try and take off.

Trevor got this one with his Sony bridge camera.
Razor bills – Trevor Stuchbury.

And a puffin in flight! They are so fast and small making it really hard to get a shot like this. TS

Stephen Lynch
Stephen also pointed his camera at some of the Visions crew in action. Interesting to see how everyone holds their cameras. Dave Lynch making sure he doesn’t fall over by attaching a strap to himself.

Dave Lynch captured this fast food deliveroo by a Puffin.
David Lee found a couple of fellow Canon shooters.
