Fire spinning at the beach – 9th Nov 2023
Alan Meek and Kevin Dawson, former Visions members, performed a fire spinning and LED light show at Aberdeen beach. They instructed spectators on camera settings for capturing the spectacle. The light show evolved into various patterns and objects only fully visible after lengthy exposure times. The variety show, lasting two hours, included fire spinning and the creation of a fantasy creature.

Photographer Dave Lynch shares his experience of entering the world of Astro landscape photography during the lockdown period. Assisted by Olympus UK's online workshops, Lynch upgraded his camera equipment and became dedicated to night sky photography. Focusing on the Milky Way, he discusses the technical challenges, ideal equipment, and significant planning involved, including using apps like PhotoPills to locate celestial objects. Finally, he recounts his adventures in the Outer Hebrides capturing landscapes under starlit skies, and the thrill of documenting the Eilean Glas lighthouse against the backdrop of the Milky Way.
