Quartely Print Competition 2025

We rarely do print competitions, but this year Sue decided it was about time we ran one.

We had an astounding number of entries for the competition. Forty! The club members who came along on the night got to vote for their top 10. After this round we had 4 entries tied. As a result we had a second round of voting and came up with a winner and tied second place.

Don’t worry. I’m not putting up all 40 images. I’ll just show the winningest ones (don’t think that is a word, but you get the idea). My selection is chosen from the non-winners. Some cracking photos anyway. Wild life, light houses, landscapes, but surprisingly hardly any portraits. The joint second prize winners and the winning image are at the bottom of the page.

Click on the first thumbnail image in the gallery below. This allows you to view the original uncropped versions. You will also see the photographer’s name and title for each photo.

And now a wee drum roll for the 3 best images chosen by our very own members.

Joint Second Prize: David Lynch- The Empty Confessional

Joint Second Prize: Linda Di Maio- Owl’s Looking At You

Winning Image: Annette Murty- Ranunculus

Congratulations to Annette for this beautiful flower photo. Lovely soft light and pin sharp.
