Visions Photo of the Year 2024

Our yearly internal competition organised by Sue Heard and judged by Michelle La Grue from Dublin. @michelle.lagrue_photography Club members could submit two images, taken in the past year of any subject matter.

We had a record number of entries: 49 this time, with a lot of high quality photos and great commentary and judging by Michelle La Grue. The evening was via Zoom with the judge from Dublin, which also allowed some Visions members on the other side of the Atlantic to participate. Most of us watched the judging in the hall at Ruthrieston on the large screen, which is a lot more fun than sitting at home.

A slightly late start due to problems with screen sharing meant we had to use our backup plan of showing the PowerPoint from Aberdeen, but it all worked smoothly. A very enjoyable evening largely due to the excellent commentary by Michelle who focused on how she perceived the images and less on the technical faults. Even then the comments were constructive and helpful. Below a selection of some of the photos and winning image.
